Damn that sucks man, that was probably my favorite concept on velospace :) and my temporary phone background haha had the same look as the parts im puttin on my bike. well on the bright side at least the injuries weren't so bad,and you got a great masterpiece. Hopefully the next builds gonna be sick too if not better :)

yes, the driver's insurance finally compensated me for the accident a week ago. the samson illusion is at the shop and will be built up shortly, and then after that, I will have my caad9 road bike built.

Its tough losing such a dope bike but at least you're able to walk away in relatively good condition. Bikes are always replaceable, our bodies, however, are not. Ride safe man...

yea, technically the bike is too small for me, but I prefer to have the bars lower at a more aggressive drop. I broke 2 sapim double butted spokes in a matter of 6 days, and the shop offered to relace the whole wheel with spoke washers, and new spokes, for free. figured I'd try something different since I ran 2x spokes for almost 10 months. twisted isn't everyone's thing. in fact, numerous people have told me they don't like it, but it's all good. I like it, and ride it heavily.

yea, I actually got my old seat and seatpost jacked right in front of my school. now, I lock my rear wheel with my seat tube with a kryptonite chain, loop it twice to a pole, finish off with seat cables, and then I lock my front with a mini-u. I've also got the front wheel bolted onto the bike with a keyed locking skewer, making it harder to pick.

unfortunately, san francisco crime is still high. more locks doesn't mean people will just avoid bikes. just deters theft for a certain period of time. oh well...
